"Playback" may hold back some traffic on Tuesday.

For its first day of principal photography, the independent horror-thriller will set up shop Tuesday at music store Beat Goes On, 1007 E. Fulton St., with periodic road closures, according to producer John M. Bennett.

"We'll be there most of the day," Bennett said.

The movie is about a group of high school students who uncover a supernatural evil while re-enacting a murder. It stars Toby Hemingway ("Feast of Love" actor who was recently romantically linked with pop singer Taylor Swift), Alessandra Torresani (TV's "Caprica"), Ambyr Childers ("All My Children") and Dearborn native Johnny Pacar ("Make it or Break It"). Mark Metcalf of "Animal House" fame will play a news reporter.

More casting announcements are expected later this week. "Playback" also will shoot at Lowell High School and a house in East Grand Rapids, Bennett said. Filming will continue for four weeks.

The movie is produced by Bennett and Lawrence Robbins for the New York City-based Bennett-Robbins Productions LLC. Grand Rapids Films and Services founder Randall Emmett is also a credited producer on "Playback"; Emmett produced three films starring rapper/actor 50 Cent that have filmed in Grand Rapids.

"Playback" started pre-production in June, and the project has hired 100 local people for extras, including speaking roles, and 15 locals for its crew.

"We're delighted to be here," Bennett said of Grand Rapids. "It's a wonderful community."

As most of you should know by now, "Twelve" is now currently in theaters in both the U.S. and Israel (and also Canada). It comes to theaters in Germany and Finland on Oct 14 & 15. It currently is in 212 theaters (total for U.S. & Canada), check your listings to see if it is in a theater near you! The official site for the movie is also now up, you can check it out here. According to Variety Ambyr will be in yet another movie! It is called "Playback" and this time... it's a supernatural thriller! I'm super excited for this one! I'm a horror/thriller junkie, LOL ;P. Filming starts next month! Here is more info on the movie from Variety...

Bennett Robbins Prods. has teamed with Emmett/Furla Films on supernatural thriller "Playback," with filming to start next month in Grand Rapids, Mich.

"Playback" will star Johnny Pacar in the lead along with Toby Hemingway ("Black Swan"), Brooke Smith ("The Namesake"), Alessandra Torresani (Caprica"), Jonathan Keltz, Ambyr Childers, Daryl Mitchell and Jennifer Missoni.

The film will be produced by John M. Bennett and Lawrence Robbins in conjunction with Randall Emmett and George Furla.

Michael A. Nickles ("Just Peck") is directing from his own script, centered on high school students digging into their town's infamous past and unwittingly unlocking a demon that preys upon their classmates. Possessing its victims through video playback, the demon closes in on one specific soul, threatening to expose the town's deepest, darkest secret.

Bennett Robbins developed the property and financed through private equity. The company was previously involved with "The Betrayed" starring Melissa George and "Coming and Going" directed by Edoardo Ponti, starring Rhys Darby and Sasha Alexander.

Emmett/Furla Films has produced "Righteous Kill" and "Conan."
